A Letter from the Chief HR Officer
Originally written by Antoine Ensley, Sr., the Chief HR Officer at Weatherspoon Security.
Every August, National Wellness Month gives us a reason to pause and reflect on what truly keeps our people strong in body, mind, and spirit. At Weatherspoon Enterprises, this month holds special meaning as an opportunity to shine a light on the men and women who make our mission possible every single day: our security guards.
Recognizing the Frontline of Our Wellness Culture
Our security guards are often the first face a visitor sees. They stand watch through overnight hours, extreme hot days, and high-pressure moments often quietly, without much recognition. Their vigilance keeps our people, sites, and communities safe, and that kind of dedication can take a real toll on physical health, sleep, and emotional well-being.
This month, and every month, Weatherspoon Enterprises wants our security team and all employees to know: your well-being matters as much as the work you do. Caring for the people who care for others isn’t just good practice; it’s central to who we are as a company.
Building a Culture of Care
Wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all. For some, it’s a better night’s sleep between shifts. For others, it’s finally talking to someone about stress that’s been building up. This month, we’re encouraging every employee, especially those working demanding, high-vigilance roles, to take small, real steps toward self-care: stretch during patrol breaks, stay hydrated, check in on a coworker, and don’t hesitate to ask for support when you need it.
